As a breed, Beagles are not high strung or neurotic like you'll commonly find in the terrier breeds. Beagles do like to run, track and chase. They make excellent companions for kids (adults too), and make great house dogs being they are short haired and shed little. Beagles are typically very playful, and train well provided you remain consistent and put in the time.

Females are $600. Males are $550

HOLDING DEPOSITS: One half the purchase price. Local check, cashiers check, or cash accepted. Local check must clear for hold to become binding. *NO RETURN OF HOLDING DEPOSIT IN THE EVENT DEPOSITOR/PURCHASER FAILS TO COMPLETE PURCHASE EXCEPT FOR VETERINARY CAUSE.* Details contained in contract.

Some more information about O'Pal O'Mine Beagles:

We won't just sell to anybody. I will not sell through a brokerage, or sell to anyone I suspect of crossbreeding for designer dogs. A contract is required. I will not release a pup under the age of 8 weeks and prefer to wait until they are 10 weeks. This gives me a better chance to observe the pups and discern their individual personality. For those looking for breeding stock, be prepared to show me at least 5 generations (certified), of the sire or dam's geneology. Inner breeding within bloodlines is my concern.

The potential owner should have a clear understanding, Beagles are a very social breed. They prefer to be frequently attended to by their owner, or paired up with another dog. They are an energetic, playfull breed. With their energy level I would not reccomend them for a child under the age of 5. Beagles are quite intelligent and do train well provided you maintain consitency. Beagles are a hound and hounds are prone to follow their nose if they catch scent.

Do know this: The behavior of your dog is reflective of the amount of time and energy (training and attention),you put into it.

Puppies being puppies, when a puppy is separated from the litter you can expect there to be some anxiety and an adjustment period. Expect the pup to posibly whine and bark, even howl for a week or two.  Now that doesn't mean it will happen like that because every pup is diffrent. For all any of us know the pup may adjust quickly and have little, if any anxiety at all. You just never know. That being said, if you live in an apartment I will not sell you a pup. It's not fair to you, your neighbors or the pup.

Heres what takes place when a littler is being whelped: Three weeks prior to whelping the mother is wormed. This is to prvent parasitic tranfer in the milk. When whelping time is evidenced the mother is brought into the house and placed in a whelping pen in her own room. She is watched for signs in initiating birth. During the entire birthing process I or my wife remain with her (the dam is very comfortable with this), and assure the pups respiritory systems are cleared and the pups are dried and warmed as soon as possible. The pups are monitored closely the 1st 72 hours to make sure they are feeding properly and for signs of general health. A UV heatlamp is maintained  for temperature. On the 3rd day dewclawing takes place. For the next week the pups and mother are checked frequently throughout the day and soft handling of the pups begins.  We want the pups to feel our touch and hear our voices so it becomes a natural thing to them. As their eye's begin to open we handle them even more frequently. By the end of the 3rd week the pups are well adjusted to us and since the dam knows she has a babysitter she starts spending less time with them. By the end of the 4th week the pups are pretty interactive when they're awake and they're looking to explore outside the whelping pen, in their room. By the end of the 5th week the dam begins the weaning process and the pups start receiving fortified puppy food along with still nursing. By the end of the 6th week, mom's about had enough of being a cow and she starts denying the pups milk, forcing them to eat more puppy food. This is also the time they find out what a needle is all about. Duramune MAX5-CVK4L 7 way is given. They will receive worming the following week . In week 7 they get to feel grass under their paws and the sun in their face. The whelping box is moved outside. They still remain in it for the most part because they want to.  When they want to check out the world, they can. Mom is right there. The pups continue growing and we continue goofing off with them. After the 8th week the pups begin doing the who's who in the heirarchy of dominance amongst themselves and they can get pretty rowdy. And "kid's being kids", they get into it every now and then. It's normal.

If we still have pups after the 12th week, those remaining receive another vacination, and if need be the 3rd one at 21 weeks along with a final worming.

We encourage prospective owners to actually come here and see the Sire and Dam and watch the pups.  Ask all the questions you want. Play with the pups, see if it's right for you. I'd rather a person take the time to make a sound decision.
