We are a small, in-home breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs, with just four Berners. Our dogs are first and foremost our companions, and not kennel dogs. We believe that breeding should be done to better the breed, and as such we have chosen the best lines to import from Hungary, Ukraine, and Russia to have a good foundation for our breeding program. Our dogs have thrived as family pets and done well in European Conformation show rings. Our stud, Bourne, earned a championship title in Hungary and his pedigree can be traced directly back to some of the first Bernese in Switzerland in 1906. Puppies are raised in our home with ENS protocols and early socialization to household noises, other dogs, and people/children. Our puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. We share a glimpse of our daily lives with our Berners on instagram @back40berners, have a profile on gooddog.com with health testing information and Bernergarde ids, and also a website, www.back40berners.com.
